The Osikonmäki and Pirilä gold deposits are 8 km apart and are associated with the major NNW trending crustal scale Kolkonjärvi Shear Zones (Pirilä) and 2nd order E/W trending structures (Osikonmäki). The deposits are structurally controlled and hosted in Tonalite (Osikonmäki) and in a contact zone between mica schists and volcanic rocks (Pirilä). Mineralization is pre-syn peak metamorphism and occurred between 1.88-1.82 GA. The gold is associated with arsenic and bismuth in quartz veins.
Both deposits are extensively drilled. Osikonmäki is open in all directions while the existing Pirilä body appears well defined and represents a small higher-grade addition to Osikonmäki. Osikonmäki has large tonnage potential as the mineralized shear extends for at least 3 km. The bulk gold till anomaly encompassing Pirilä is more than 30 km long and the chances of finding further mineralization of similar type is good.
Belvedere claimed the Osikonmäki and Pirilä gold deposits in 2005
