Belvedere has put together a strong Finland focussed team with a broad skills and experience base.
Harry Dobson - Non Executive Chairman, Harry Dobson, a mining industry veteran, brings many years of experience to the Company. Mr Dobson has been and remains as Director and/or Chairman of several exploration and mining companies. As Chairman of American Pacific Mining, Mr Dobson successfully reopened the El Mochito zinc and silver mine in Honduras, and more recently, as Chairman of Kirkland Lake Gold has put the Macassa gold mine back into production.
David Pym - President, Chief Executive Officer, B.Sc. in Geology, 1990, University of Queensland, Australia. Brings over 18 years of management and geological experience in direct mineral exploration for a wide variety of commodities and deposit styles in varied terrains around the world in Australia, Indonesia, Scandinavia and Venezuela, to the board of Belvedere.
Dr. Toby Strauss - Chief Operating Officer MSc Rhodes University, SA, 1995. PhD Rhodes University, 2003. He has been working in mineral exploration in Finland since 1996, and brought his extensive experience in gold, diamond and base metal exploration to the Belvedere team in 2003, joining the board in 2006.
John S Thomson - CFO A Chartered Accountant from Scotland who has also studied at INSEAD (a business school near Paris). He has worked internationally in a variety of senior roles for companies including PepsiCo and is currently Interim CFO of Kirkland Lake Gold Inc and Rambler Metals & Mining PLC. He is also a non-executive director of Parragon Publishing Ltd, a successful international publisher with operations in Europe, India, the UK and USA.
Vesa-Juusi Penttila- Non Executive Director, Mr. Penttilä brings a wealth of mining experience to the board. He was General Manager of the Hitura Nickel Mine between 1988 and 2000 and was Vice President - Exploration, Precious Metals Mining, with Outokumpu Mining Oy between 2000 and 2004. Since 2004 V-J Penttilä has been Chairman and CEO of Finn Nickel Ltd.
Markku Isohanni - Non Executive Director, MSc 1971, Phil.Lic. in geology 1976, has over 35 years experience in base and precious metals exploration. In charge of Outokumpu’s worldwide exploration for 14 years from 1988 to 2002. Director of the Board of the Geological Survey of Finland from 1996 to 2003. Director or chairman for many of Outokumpu’s in house mining and exploration companies in Finland, Australia, Spain, Canada, Chile, Ireland and Russia. Mr Isohanni has recently retired from Outokumpu.
Dr. Shantimoy Chakraborty - Associate Director (Belvedere Resources Finland Oy) Operations Manager Finland, M.Sc. in Geology in 1979 and Ph.D. in Geology in 1983 St. Petersburg Mining University, Russia. Geologist and Snr. Geologist with Development Consultants Ltd., Calcutta, India, 1984-1989. Snr. Geologist Production (1989-91) and surface exploration (1991-1995) Nachanga division, with Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Ltd. Exploration Manager for Oy SES Finland Ltd.(1996-1998)
Steven R. Cuthill – Corporate Secretary and Treasurer Prior to moving to Canada in 1992, served as Treasurer for Sovereign Oil & Gas Plc. In London, UK. Joined Belvedere in 2003 after holding accounting positions with several mineral resource companies including Operations Accountant (N. America) with Homestake Mining Ltd.
